Celebrating The Coronation of King Charles

In the lead up to the coronation of King Charles III, the marketing and property management teams at REM prepared The Shard and Park House to join in with the national celebration.

Together the teams worked to light The Shard's spire with a unique Union Flag, which was depicted in light for the very first time.

In addition, a Union Flag was flown at 929ft from the 87 floor of the building, making this the highest flag flown from any building in the United Kingdom.

AS A BEACON FOR MODERN LONDON, THE SHARD WILL BE JOINING THE CELEBRATIONS TAKING PLACE ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND THE WORLD. WE ARE DELIGHTED TO BE DISPLAYING WHAT WILL PROBABLY BE THE HIGHEST REPRESENTATION OF THE UNION FLAG OVER THIS HISTORIC WEEKEND AND SHINE A LIGHT THAT REFLECTS UNITY AS WE COME TOGETHER AS A NATION TO COMMEMORATE THE OCCASION.

In addition to the spire lights, the teams organised a party for occupiers at The Shard, decorating the buildings reception and setting up village styled fete games, a vintage tea party followed by a prize draw.
